Looped Case Study

Start to Finish: Creating my Own App

For a capstone project, I had to create a solution to a problem. Something I am personally passionate about is sustainable fashion. A problem many people are experiencing is wanting to partake in sustainable fashion, but also wanting to get rid of old clothes and buy new ones. To help solve this problem, I designed Looped. Looped is a platform that allows users to send in their old clothes and a receive a credit to buy ones. What stands out about Loop is the old clothes would be sent to proven sustainable companies, who are responsibly using the old clothes and not just throwing them out. The credit would then be used to buy from these proven sustainable companies. This process would help make the fashion a Looped process, where old is turned into new. TinyTales Case Study

A Design Sprint for a Reading App

TinyTales is a fictional program that operates as a digital library for children’s books. Their main customers are parents who are reading aloud to their children. They had a problem though- users found the process of choosing a book arduous. Using a modified version of a Google Design Sprint, I designed a search and filter process to streamline a user’s experience finding a book. As a previous second grade teacher, I have some strong opinions on book applications. I had a blast working on TinyTales, designing a more functional tablet reading app for parents and children alike. Click to see how in just five days, I designed a streamlined filtering system!

Internship Revamping an AI Math Program

MyEdMaster is an AI math tutoring program with the goal to expand to all subjects. After developing this program, Dr. John Leddo, the creator, realized he needed the program to be user friendly and engaging for preteens and teenagers. In come me and my two team members. John asked for low fidelity wireframes, but we were too excited about the program we were designing that we went far beyond just low fidelity wireframes. Read my case study to see just how much further my team went and how I brought my educational expertise to the design.
